What is a Chaplain?

A Chaplain is a person who represents a faith community within an institution - so a Christian chaplain is like a vicar to the university, or hospital, or prison.

Who are we?

We're a team of Christian chaplains who work together to serve the university and college communities. We're from different Christian denominations, but are here for anyone, whatever your religious background. At chaplaincy we have this little motto – ‘spiritual support for all’.  That means that whoever you are, wherever you’re from, whatever you believe, how ever old (or young) you might be we’ll be happy to help you. We’ll support you in anyway we can, be it pastoral or practical.

So If you've got any questions about faith, the meaning of life, what it's all about, then we'll be willing to talk about that. If you just want someone to talk to, we're here. If you have a specific problem or difficulty, we can help direct you to the right place. If you’ve got big ideas for a new group or something then we’d love to try and help.

We have links with the other Student Services and faith communities and can put you in touch with specialist help and advice if you wish. We may not have the answers, but we may know someone who does!
