LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY & COLLEGES CHAPLAINCY 'STUDENT SURVIVAL KITS' A GREAT HIT AT THE FRESHERS FAIRincluded in the eye catching bag were BUBBLES*SOAP*SHOWER GEL*COFFEE &TEA* A WOODEN SPOON!*BISCUITS* PEN*BOTTLED WATER A spokesperson said " We wanted to give Freshers a warm welcome from the Christian community here in Loughborough. The 'Survival Kits' have been made up through donations from various Churches and individuals. All the consumables , ie. coffee, tea etc are Fair Trade items and the water is 'One Water' which is sold with the one intention of raising funds and awareness to help establish clean drinking sources for parts of Africa." 750 of these kits were distributed to new and returning students over the course of a couple of hours. " The demand was much higher than we anticipated. We could have probably given out hundreds more." said one of the chaplains. " At one stage we had students even queuing up at the Chaplaincy stand to get their free gift." So popular was the event that the Chaplaincy is already planning for 2010! UNIVERSITY NEWSCentenary Celebration Walks
As part of the Centenary celebrations campus walking route maps have been created. They include interesting facts about the campus and sites to look out for on your way. The routes are 30-40 minutes long, which is ideal for a lunchtime walk.

Books can be borrowed for up to a period of three weeks. The Chaplaincy reserves the right to make a charge of 50p per week for books that are overdue. If you require the book for longer than 3 weeks then please renew it in the usual way. Thank you.
